Refunds & cancellations.

01How tickets are sold

Vumo is the technology a host uses to run a gathering. When you buy a ticket, the payment is collected directly by the host through Stripe — the host is the seller, and Vumo takes no commission. Because of that, refunds for a ticket come from the host’s account, under the policy the host has set for that event.

02The host’s refund window

Each paid event has a refund policy chosen by its host, shown on the event page before you buy. The options are: no refunds, refundable up to 48 hours before the event, refundable up to 12 hours before, or refundable any time before it starts.

If you’re within the window the host set, you can refund yourself from your invitation page — open your ticket and choose to cancel and refund. The ticket amount goes back to your original payment method, and your seat is released for someone else.

03Refunds at the host’s discretion

Outside the self-service window, a refund is between you and the host. Hosts can refund any guest at any time from their guest list, so if you have a good reason, ask them. Vumo gives hosts the tools to do this but doesn’t decide for them.

04If an event is cancelled or changed

If a host cancels an event, they are responsible for refunding their guests, and Vumo provides the tools to do so. If a host changes the date, time, or details, they should let you know; whether that entitles you to a refund depends on the host’s policy. For anything about a specific event, contact the host first.

05Processing fees & timing

A refund returns the ticket price to the card or method you paid with. Stripe’s payment-processing fee is handled according to Stripe’s own rules and may not be returned on a refund — that’s Stripe’s policy, not a charge from Vumo. Refunds are issued immediately but can take a few business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.

06Subscriptions & one-time upgrades

These cover what hosts pay Vumo, not what guests pay for tickets. The Pro plan is billed monthly; you can cancel any time from your billing settings to stop future charges, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. We don’t generally refund a period that has already started, except where the law requires it.

The one-time Single Event upgrade is a single charge that unlocks paid ticketing for one event. Once the upgrade has been applied to an event, it isn’t refundable.
